NCLEX-RN Test Centres in India — Locations, ATT & Pearson VUE Scheduling Guide

Indian nurses do not need to travel to the United States to take the NCLEX-RN.

India is an official international NCLEX testing location. Eligible candidates can schedule their examination at an available Pearson test centre in India after receiving their Authorization to Test (ATT).

The exact centres, appointment dates and available seats can change, so candidates should always confirm availability through the official Pearson NCLEX scheduling system before making travel arrangements.

Important

The list of international NCLEX test centres can change without prior notice.

A city appearing on a published list does not guarantee that appointments will be available on the candidate's preferred date.

Always check the live Pearson NCLEX test-centre locator before booking travel or accommodation.

Is There an NCLEX Test Centre in Kerala?

The official July 2026 International Pearson Professional Center list does not show an NCLEX test centre in Kerala.

Kerala nurses may therefore need to travel to another available Indian city. Bengaluru or Chennai may be practical options for many Kerala candidates, depending on location, travel convenience and appointment availability.

Do not book flights, trains or hotels until the NCLEX appointment has been officially confirmed.

Do I Need ATT Before Booking an NCLEX Test Centre?

Yes.

After the Nursing Regulatory Body determines that the candidate is eligible and the Pearson registration requirements are completed, Pearson issues the Authorization to Test (ATT) by email.

The ATT is required before an NCLEX appointment can be scheduled.

ATT validity is determined by the relevant Nursing Regulatory Body; NCSBN states that an ATT is valid for a period specified by that regulator, with an average validity of approximately 90 days. Candidates must test within their ATT validity dates.

How to Schedule NCLEX-RN in India

Once the ATT is received:

Receive ATT → Sign in to Pearson → Choose India → Select available test centre → Select date and time → Pay applicable international scheduling charges → Confirm appointment

NCLEX appointments at international test centres can be scheduled online or through Pearson Candidate Services. Pearson sends an appointment confirmation containing the test date, time and location.

Candidates should carefully verify the confirmation before travelling.

Can I Take NCLEX in India if I Applied Through a U.S. State Board?

Yes.

The test location does not have to be in the same jurisdiction where the nurse is seeking licensure.

NCSBN states that candidates can take the NCLEX at a Pearson Professional Testing location regardless of where they are applying for licensure or registration.

For example, an Indian nurse applying for U.S. RN licensure can receive eligibility through the selected U.S. Nursing Regulatory Body and take the NCLEX at an available Indian international testing location.

International NCLEX Scheduling Fee

For a candidate seeking U.S. licensure and testing internationally, the current additional international scheduling fee is:

US$150 + applicable tax

This is separate from the NCLEX registration fee.

Future Fee Update
NCLEX has announced that effective February 1, 2027, the NCLEX registration fee will increase to US$350 for candidates seeking U.S. or Australian licensure and CAD$570 for candidates seeking Canadian licensure/registration. This future registration-fee change is separate from the current international scheduling fee. Candidates should verify the latest fees on the official NCLEX Fees & Payment page before registering.

Passport Requirement for NCLEX in India

This is extremely important.

For an international NCLEX test centre, the acceptable primary identification is a valid passport book or card.

The identification must be:

  • Government-issued
  • Valid and non-expired
  • Physical, not digital
  • Carry the candidate's name in Roman characters
  • Include a recent photograph
  • Include a signature

The candidate's first and last names printed on the identification must exactly match the first and last names used during NCLEX registration. If the registered name differs from the identification because of a legal name change, candidates must follow the official NCLEX name-change documentation requirements.

A candidate without acceptable identification can be refused entry and may have to register and pay again.

Changing an NCLEX Appointment in India

International appointments can be changed, but candidates must follow Pearson's official scheduling rules.

For examinations scheduled Tuesday through Friday, changes must be made at least 24 hours before the appointment date and time.

For examinations scheduled Saturday, Sunday or Monday, changes must be made no later than Friday and at least 24 hours before the appointment time.

Changes to an international test-centre appointment must be handled through Pearson Candidate Services.

Leaving a voicemail or answering-machine message does not constitute proper cancellation or rescheduling. Candidates should obtain confirmation from Pearson after making any change.

Missing an appointment or failing to cancel or reschedule within the required period can result in loss of the examination fee and international scheduling fee.

Important Advice for Indian Nurses

Do not choose an NCLEX test centre simply because somebody else used that location.

Choose based on:

confirmed appointment availability + ATT validity + reliable travel arrangements.

A confirmed appointment is more important than selecting a particular city.

Also avoid booking non-refundable travel before Pearson confirms the examination appointment.
