Important name and document rules

NCLEX registration fees: October 2026 and February 2027

IMPORTANT OFFICIAL UPDATE: NCSBN announced new NCLEX registration fees effective 1 February 2027. The fee is based on where you seek nursing licensure, not your Indian residence. Registration completion date determines whether the older or revised fee applies; exam appointment date alone does not.

An additional international scheduling fee may apply to exams taken outside the relevant licensing country (currently US$150 or CAD$150 as applicable), and VAT/tax may apply. NCSBN states that the other NCLEX fees are not changing as part of the February 2027 registration increase. Nursing-board application fees, credential review, travel, language and visa expenses are separate. Always verify amounts at the official NCLEX Fees & Payment page just before paying.

365-day Pearson registration window and ATT: common confusion

NCLEX registration may remain open for up to 365 days waiting for nursing regulatory body eligibility. If eligibility does not arrive within that registration window or is denied, the registration expires and fees are generally forfeited. Once eligible, the candidate receives an ATT whose validity is set by the responsible process and can vary; the candidate must test within ATT dates.

365 days is not a promise that your ATT is valid for 365 days. Similarly, the duration of Pearson registration is not a guarantee of a Board’s eligibility timeline. Do not create two active registrations of the same exam type: an overlapping second registration can be denied without refund. Where accommodations are required, request them with the NRB using its specified steps.

Exam appointment booking in India: Pearson testing locations

Appointment availability is managed via the official scheduling service after ATT. Choose a test centre based on the current Pearson locator and available dates. India-based test-centre names, seat availability, and international scheduling charges can change. Verify exact city and time from Pearson before planning tickets or leave.

Rescheduling, cancellation and refunds

Read the 2026 NCLEX Candidate Bulletin and confirmation email for current test-centre appointment rescheduling, business-hours and missed-appointment rules. NCSBN publishes nonrefundability of registration and international scheduling fees under specified circumstances. Do not assume that changing a date is always free or that simply missing an exam preserves your fee.

Eligibility is jurisdiction-specific: GNM, BSc and Post Basic nursing

All GNM or all BSc Nursing candidates are not automatically eligible for every US board. Education hours, curriculum, registration status and specific evaluation requirements matter. Some jurisdictions have additional restrictions. Claims such as “this board accepts everyone” or “English test is always required before Pearson registration” should not be treated as universal truths.
